HMX-DAMA type-tested by Underwriter's Laboratories

HMX-DAMAHMX, a Business Unit of A.T.E., has built an in-house laboratory to test and evaluate the performance of its core technology – DAMA. With this laboratory, A.T.E.-HMX has achieved a major milestone of being the first company in the country to type-test its indirect evaporative heat exchanger, which was witnessed and verified by UL (Underwriters Laboratories), a global leader in testing and certification.

HMX-lab-test-roomThe laboratory has been built as per ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers) standards for measurements and is among a very few such facilities built by manufacturers of evaporative cooling machines in the country.
Equipped to simulate a range of climatic conditions, the laboratory helps to generate performance data at different locations, seasons, or hour of day. The laboratory has given a major boost to the product development effort at HMX and has built confidence among its own team and  customers – both, end-users, and consultants. Apart from generating reliable data on the performance and specifications, it will be used for certifications, testing various machine configurations, and development of new and improved designs. With HMX’s plans to enter global markets, such infrastructure becomes critical in developing A.T.E.-HMX into a world-class entity.

The laboratory has already completed over 100 hours of documented testing and has its testing plan already set for the coming year. The team plans to continuously improve the systems and processes in the laboratory to increase the testing throughput and reliability.
